Anxiety
Life is challenging! We are bombarded daily with its impact. It makes sense that we would have an anxious part inside of us who might feel fear or unease or overwhelm. It is indeed normal for humans to feel anxious given what the world asks of us. The good news here is that our anxious parts are actually looking out for us, and even hold wisdom to share! Yes! What would it be like to relate to the “worrier” inside of us as an ally? What would happen if we really spent some time getting to know it, and listened with compassion and curiosity? What worries does it hold? What is it afraid of if it didn’t invite us to feel anxious? What does it need? Often when we deepen our relationship to our worried part by listening without judgement, the anxiety softens and starts to trust in the leadership at the helm.
Perhaps you have had this experience?
The above invitation to view our worried parts as allies illustrates what working with anxiety can look like from an IFS perspective. It can be extraordinarily potent!
